Oh thou oppressive heavy summer coat,
Who climbs upon our backs to take a rest.
Board now! For you should ne’er be nae afloat
In waters deep as sin and miles abreast.
To me, you overstay your welcome here.
If ever you did stop
And bear a bit of burden of your own;
For then my aching shoulder pain would clear,
And wobbled legs would cease to make me drop.
Make ringing in my ear be silent tones.
